In 2022, the internet speculated that Wrapped ended tracking in October, leaving November and December as the happiest months to hear the Spotify fan's guilty pleasures. Spotify cracked that belief in mid-October of 2022, in response to a culture update account, Pop Crave, about the Wrapped ending on Halloween.

Spotify remains secretive about when correctly the Wrapped ended the tracking. Spotify's vice president of product development, Babar Zafar, explained that "The Wrapped personalized experience covers streaming for 2022". He added that they start in January and stop a few weeks before the launch on 30th November. He also said that they aim to cut the cutoff date as late as possible to make a truly personalized experience for the millions of listeners around the universe.
