Why Did Beatles Break Up?
When Allen Klein arrived, he was joined by John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Paul McCartney declined, resulting in a schism that has never completely healed. "I had to fight, and the only way I could fight was to sue the other Beatles because they were going with Klein," he said in an interview with BBC Radio 4 in October 2021, according to The Guardian. Jackson's documentary series also corrects a popular misconception among Beatles fans: while Abbey Road was set to release prior to actually Let It Be, it was originally recorded after that. In January 1969, Let It Be was recognised. Abbey Road construction began in February and was completed in August of that year. In September 1969, the album was released. Several more fans blamed Yoko Ono for the Beatles' breakup, although as You're Wrong About pointed out in their September 2019 episode, the fractures in the Beatles' relationships were relatively close by the time she arrived.
