Jang Sung Rak is a well-known illustrator and artist well recognized for his contribution to the popular webcomic Solo Leveling.
Solo Leveling, commonly known as Only I Level Up, is a web book by Chugong that can be read online. The book was turned into a webtoon, which made its KakaoPage debut as a serial on March 4.
The webcomic’s artwork was made by Reduce Studio’s CEO Jang-Sung-Rak, popularly known as Dubu. The book’s English rights were acquired by Yen Press. Additionally, it has evolved into an anime series with a 2023 premiere.

The artist’s place of employment, Redice Studio, broke the news of Dubu’s passing. The renowned illustrator, who suffered from an undiagnosed chronic ailment, died on July 23 as a result of a brain hemorrhage brought on by that condition, according to Rice’s statement.
There had previously been a private funeral service attended by Dubu’s relatives and close friends. The studio praised the public for their support of Jang-Sung Rak and stated that the author loved both his audience and his writing.
Dubu began his career by contributing to a variety of comics and manhwas, such as the Space Dandy manga and the first season of Beautiful Legends.
On the artwork, Redice, the artist’s studio, was frequently the sole name mentioned. However, Dubu’s biggest breakthrough came in 2018, when he started producing the webtoon adaptation of Chu-Solo gong’s Leveling web book series.
