Former AFL player Sam Blease sells Coburg pandemic reno home for $200,000 above expectations

Ex-Demon Sam Blease and partner Olivia Lucietto have sold the Coburg house they renovated during the pandemic for about $200,000 more than their price guide.

Blease played in the AFL for Melbourne between 2008-2014, was nominated for the AFL Rising Star award in 2011 and 2012, and later played for Geelong.

The couple lived in the 36 Lascelles St home for about a year after they bought it in 2019, and overhauled it with the help of Rob Petracca — the builder brother of Demon’s star Christian Petracca.

While the property was on the market, Blease said they transformed the “pretty much unliveable” 1950s weatherboard house into a modern three-bedroom home.

The abode sold for an undisclosed price earlier this month which the Herald Sun understands to be in the vicinity of $1.6m, well above the $1.3m-$1.4m asking range.

Bekdon Richards Hawthorn director Paul Richards declined to comment on the price, but said three bidders participated in the September auction before it passed in.

It sold afterwards to the highest bidder, with records indicating the deal was concluded on October 6.

“It sold to a lovely young couple,” Mr Richards said.
